Professor, Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital

Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital serves the general population of Copenhagen (470,000 citizens) and is already a strong research institution with several specialties and is internationally leading in multiple areas. The hospital has a long tradition for inventions, novel clinical treatments, and research units close to the patient and support by the department leaders. This also includes long-lasting formalized collaboration with DTU.

The hospital research units are well-established in all departments and include surgical specialties (orthopaedic, abdominal), medical (cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, emergency medicine, dermatology, pulmonology, infection medicine, sports medicine, social medicine, geriatric and palliative care, rheumatology (Parker Institute)), and others (anaesthesia and intensive care, biochemistry, occupational and environmental health, pharmacology, radiology, physical and occupational therapy, clinical physiology and nuclear medicine, Center for Clinical Research and Prevention (CKFF)) as well as the Copenhagen Center for Translational Research (CTF) and an innovation unit. The CTF was established in 2018 and is a physical centre for interdisciplinary collaboration between hospital researchers, clinicians, and external partners. CTF has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to share cell-, histology-, and immunology-equipment as well as

an MRi-scanner and examination rooms for patient follow-up in projects such as Østerbroundersøgelsen.
