Process for the appointment of assistant professors (named grant)
The establishment of an assistant professorship begins with a dialogue between the department head (and, if relevant, the research leadership) from the region and the director of the department at DTU.
Thereafter, an establishment form is completed, which will include the following key information: academic profile, funding, duration of the appointment, recommendation for the evaluation committee, and more. (see establishment form).
The management from DTU and Region H/department management enter into a collaboration to establish the position, where the following documents must be in place:
See relevant links at the bottom of this page.
Before proceeding, a peer evaluation must be carried out; the chair of the evaluation committee will be the department director or possibly section head at DTU, while the remainder of the committee must be approved by Region H and DTU (department director and subsequently DTU’s dean). The requirements for establishing the evaluation committee follow the usual applicable rules for DTU.
The establishment form, including information about the evaluation committee, is forwarded to the DTU’s HR once the committee is approved. DTU Corporate HR will then initiate the evaluation process.
The deadline for the evaluation committee’s work is set to 4 weeks from receipt of the materials.
At this stage of the recruitment process, it may also be relevant for a parallel professional evaluation of the clinical competencies related to the primary appointment in the region to be required.
After a positive evaluation, the recruitment process is initiated by DTU Corporate HR and concludes with the issuance of the employment letter.
